The mix here is balanced and the production is still very raw. This allows the instruments to roar, but still be at the correct volumes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe music itself is much more thrash-sounding than previous efforts, but still manages to retain some black metal influences. A.C. Wild’s voice is evil and raspy as all hell, which makes for some great blackened vocals. The obvious highlights are “Desert!” and “Ilona the Very Best”. These songs are fairly complex, have great riffs, and awesome guitar solos, provided by Andy Panigada. These solos are fairly long by Black Metal standards, but we wouldn’t have it any other way, as they feel quite powerful and epic and really complete the songs. That with the “not metal” instruments often used give this album a unique sound.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is an album any Thrash fan, Black Metal fan or even Speed Metal fan, should own. With members of Sea Mosquito and Amaltheia in their lineup, they're able to navigate around the music and seem to have a fair idea of what they are doing. And yet, they have managed to do something altogether different, something refreshing and liberating, perhaps even far removed from the core values of the genre itself. But that is exactly what makes it so special. They've seamlessly infused elements of free-form jazz, progressive and atmospheric music and changed the very composition of it. The music flows unhindered, finding its own pace, tone and direction, leaving the listener in suspense and awe. There is nothing quite like it. The music wafts along assuming varying different styles while remaining largely coherent and the album comes to an end before it can get pigeonholed. Intoxicating vocals from Monica but also a William Faith like we’ve never heard before, spitting lyrics like curses (“Nine Dragons”) and guitars and drums that overwhelm the listener, creating completely unique atmospheres. With “\u003cstrong\u003e: ankoku butoh :\u003c\/strong\u003e” they masterfully merge all their influences to the point where they have discarded the narrow confines of goth\/darkwave, using only what they desire to rebuild and perfect it in their own image.
