Celebrating 10 years of Laurestine - Released in 2015 , Laurestine is the second full-length from New York City's So Hideous - an ambitious fusion of atmospheric black metal, post-rock, hardcore, and shoegaze. What sets it apart is scale: the band builds their walls of tremolo and blast beats around sweeping orchestral and choral arrangements performed by the First Light Orchestra, with Christopher Cruz's harsh vocals riding beneath the strings and brass. The result is cinematic, symphonic, and genuinely beautiful - heavy music with the reach of a film score.
Seven tracks, one continuous emotional arc: Yesteryear, Here After, Relinquish, The Keepsake, Falling Cedars, The True Pierce, and A Faint Whisper.
