Mork was created by Thomas Eriksen in 2004 & was primarily a side-project from inception until the debut album surfaced in 2013, & since then the band has rightly earned the accolade as one of the top Norwegian black metal acts of recent years. Mork has received strong endorsements from its peers, cemented with the release of third album ‘Eremittens Dal’ on Peaceville in 2017, featuring guests from Dimmu Borgir & 1349, and leading to a string of subsequent high-caliber releases culminating in the most recent magmun-opus for the band, in the shape of 2024's 'Syv'.
‘Isebakke’ was the debut studio album from Mork, originally released in 2013. The compositions were notably harking back to the glory days of black metal while establishing an atmosphere of their own, resulting in ‘Isebakke’ becoming a masterclass in deep dark cold riffing and vintage black metal execution, which also included a cover of Onslaught’s thrash classic ‘Power From Hell’.
Though Mork is essentially a solo-project, the band is active with a full live line-up and a string of tours and festivals internationally under its belt.
