A CONTINUED EXPLORATION OF THE DEPTHS OF DARKNESS, IN THE SIXTH STUDIO ALBUM OF MASTERFULLY CRAFTED, GRIM, EPIC & EXQUISITE NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL. INCLUDES GUEST APPEARANCE FROM HJELVIK (EX-KVELERTAK). PRESENTED ON LIMITED SILVER VINYL WITH GATEFOLD SLEEVE.

The ever-prolific Thomas Eriksen returns with Mork's sixth studio album following swiftly on the heels of 2021's Katedralen opus. A new highlight of meticulously composed atmospheric & grim yet anthemic darkness, with Dypet Mork creates a tapestry of gloom-soaked tension amid the nightmarish soundscapes. At once forlorn yet uplifting ?Dypet? marks a natural progression of Eriksen?s ongoing evolution as a songwriter with a continued push for new ideas & sounds, whilst retaining the core of Mork?s foundation in ice cold hypnotic black metal.

The inspiration & concept for the title track itself (& cover art) involves a twist on the Cthulhu Mythos by H.P. Lovecraft; in this instance turned into a Norwegian scenario where there is a cult on the coast that has worshipped Draugen (A mythical sea ghost in Norwegian lore) for generations. The rest of the tracks explore themes of death, betrayal, hate, inner demons & misanthropy, all finely woven into the album's dynamically grim fabric.

Dypet was once more performed, recorded & mixed by Eriksen himself, with engineering assisted by Freddy Holm & with mastering carried out by Jack Control at Enormous Door (Darkthrone). The track H?ye Murer features a guest vocal appearance by Hjelvik (ex-Kvelertak).

French artist David Thi?rr?e also returns with a new masterpiece of truly befitting artwork, inspired by the aforementioned Draugen/Cthulhu theme.

Mork was created by Thomas Eriksen in 2004 & was primarily a side-project from inception until the debut album, Isebakke, in 2013. Since then, with a constant flow of releases & live work, the band has rightly earned their accolade as one of the top Norwegian black metal acts of recent years, receiving strong endorsements from their peers.
